Special General Meeting November 2020

Dear SBCCA members,

Your committee is hereby informing you of a Special General Meeting to be held on Thursday November 26th at 6 pm at the Morisset Multi-Purpose Centre.

The reason for this meeting is for members to have a discussion and then vote on a Special Resolution regarding the future of this organisation. As per the constitution, no other business will be addressed at this meeting.

The President and Secretary are not standing for re-election this year at the AGM due to other pressures and priorities. The current Treasurer has indicated his interest in being re-elected to his role if the empty committee roles are filled.  We currently have 2 other committee members who will also need to be formally elected on to the committee if they choose to do so, after having been elected as Casual committee members during this last calendar year.

Without new nominations and successful elections of officers into these 2 office holders roles and a minimum of 3 “ordinary” committee members as per the constitution, the SBCCA will have no choice but to undergo a voluntary winding up and cancellation of its incorporation, with all assets being transferred to another similar organisation (yet to be determined), in accordance with Section 45 of the Constitution and the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 (NSW).

We encourage all members to come along to engage in a discussion on the future of the organisation and vote on the special resolution.


If the organisation is to continue, some of you must be willing to put your hands up to be nominated for the committee to fill the roles being vacated by the outgoing committee plus as ordinary committee members.

Any people wishing to become members for their vote to be valid and counted at this meeting will need to apply for membership and pay their fee by November 15th 2020 with the goal of being approved by the committee at our next meeting which will be held on November 16th 2020. Business membership fees are $99 per year, community membership $25. Due to the impact of covid-19 on membership organisations during 2020, if the organisation is subsequently wound up, any membership fees paid since March 2020 will be fully refunded.
